Korean Culture Summer Program
The Korean Culture Summer Study Program introduces students to Korean culture, language, and history. This three-credit, two-week program is offered in late May to early June. Classes are held at the Catholic University of Korea, where students will interact with Korean college students while participating in lectures on Korean language, economy, and history.
Field trips to historical and cultural places will allow students to see first-hand the beauty of Korea, thus enriching their classroom learning. Students will have a chance to touch the heart of modern Korean life by learning about educational systems, politics, and family life. They will be paired with a host country "sister" and see a glimpse of her life both on campus and in her home. In Seoul, Korea's capital, students will visit palaces and museums, a folk village, and religious centers.
The program is offered in alternative years (2010 and 2012) and is open to students of all majors and class years but limited to a group size of 20 participants.
